It’s the moment Fulmar Road Elementary students have been waiting for: The slides on the lower playground have officially reopened, complete with brand-new stairs, a new slide and a shiny new welcome sign. Students wasted no time breaking in the new slide, scrambling across the apparatus, laughing with friends and getting plenty of exercise.
The joy was contagious, with smiles seen all around, and none bigger than Assistant Principal Allyson Fallman’s. “We are so happy to see our students enjoying themselves on the new slide,” Fallman said. “Play is an important part of learning, and it’s wonderful to see the excitement on their faces as they explore the space together.”
The repaired playground is already proving to be a favorite spot for students, giving them the perfect place to play, move and recharge during the school day.
